A vibrant array of activities brought together families, Conference members, and employees, fostering a community spirit that will be long remembered, in school holiday activities.
Young participants enjoyed soccer clinics and cricket workshops, origami sessions and painting classes on back-to-back Fridays filled with laughter, creativity, and connection, on 4 and 11 October, organised by Kelly McCrohon, Schools & Youth Engagement Officer, South Region.
Soccer and cricket clinics were particularly popular, with children dashing around, practicing their skills and showcasing impressive moves. Meanwhile, the origami workshops and painting sessions offered a creative and imaginative escape.
The joy didn’t stop there. Many children were so proud of their creations that they requested to have their framed artwork displayed on-site, adding a splash of colour and a very personal touch to the space. It was heartwarming to see the young residents beaming with pride over their art.
The turnout was remarkable, bringing in familiar faces and newcomers from the Social and Affordable Housing community, creating an inclusive atmosphere where everyone was welcomed. It was a joy to witness tenants, members and employees mingling, sharing laughter, and enjoying the festivities.
A special shoutout is due to Campbelltown Vinnies Van Coordinator, David Cisneroszapatero, who cooked a veritable feast around which everyone came together. Additionally, heartfelt thanks are given to the Society’s employees, Rebecca Cisneros, Teana Christensen, Priscilla Leong, Ruby McGinty, Rachel Lawton, Mark Weber, James Newell, Poppy Whiting, and Jessica Milenkovska for their support and hard work.
As the excitement of this event fades, the community is already looking forward to the next gathering. With the collective support of so many dedicated people from across the Society, it’s sure to be another fantastic experience.
