Members and volunteers are the backbone of the Society. And to make you feel more supported, the Society is committed to helping you develop your skills.
Some of you may already be aware that the new MAVS website is up and running, and this is where you can find your compliance modules like the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, Privacy and Confidentiality and Safety. Timely completion of these is essential for members and volunteers to be compliant with the Society’s policies as well as our legal obligations to the community.
Besides these, there are optional modules like Modern Slavery, Understanding Poverty and Djurali, which helps you develop an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait culture. Both compliance and optional modules appear on your dashboards when you log in.
We understand that there are knowledge and skills that members and volunteers would like to develop, and for this reason, the Member, Volunteer and Early Intervention team is excited to announce that we are in the planning stages of a comprehensive Learning Needs Analysis.
A Learning Needs Analysis is a way to identify gaps between the Society’s goals and the current skill level of its people. By participating in the survey, members and volunteers will be able to tell us what types of skills they would like to develop, and we then plan what types of programs we can offer based on their responses.
Over the coming weeks, we will be planning a series of online consultation sessions, and we will be inviting key personnel as well as members and volunteers to participate.
We encourage anyone who is interested to keep an eye on your inbox and participate in a survey about your learning needs. By participating, you’ll be contributing to a valuable project that will help the Society reach its strategic goals.
