The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW has invited all members, volunteers and staff across the state to attend the first Good Works Summit in Bankstown, Sydney. Here's why you should attend!
The “Good Works Summit” is a revitalised Vincentian forum designed to celebrate Member contributions and support Vincentian work in an increasingly complex environment – one shaped by challenges such natural disasters and cost-of-living crises.
Open to all Members, volunteers and staff, this one-day event will foster connection, inspiration, and learning through keynote speakers, workshops, and shared experiences, and is free to attend for members and volunteers!
The event is being held on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at Bankstown Sports Club. Arrivals and registrations will begin at 8:45am with official proceedings taking place from 9:30am-4:40pm. An evening dinner and awards ceremony will follow from 7pm-10pm.
By attending the event, Vincentians can expect to:
- Recognise the tangible impact of their efforts
- Strengthen their connection to the Society and build meaningful relationships with their fellow Members, volunteers and staff across NSW
- Deepen their understanding of social justice and advocacy within the Society’s mission
- Feel re-invigorated, inspired to serve and undertake good works in their communities.
The theme of the Good Works Summit is, “Together, We are More”. This theme underscores the power of unity in our Vincentian vocation, affirming that Members, Volunteers, and Staff can serve more people and create greater impact when we join together in shared service.
The summit will bring together Members, Volunteers and staff and will feature inspirational Society leaders, people we assist, and community voices including Rebecca Pinkstone and Joe Hildebrand. There will also be a variety of workshops run throughout the day – co-designed and co-facilitated by Members and staff – on key topics linked to the theme, such as:
- Conference Collaborations
- Understanding the breadth of Vinnies services across the State
- Vinnies Retail and Vinnies Finds
- Fundraising and Grants
- Vinnies Vans
The cohesive event will be hosted by the Member and Volunteer Engagement Team, in partnership with the NSW State Council President, Membership Advisory & Youth Committees, Government Relations & Policy Team, Vinnies Services, Retail, Fundraising, and more. We can't wait to see you there!
