Gosford Comedy Night Raises Spirits and Funds

Gosford Comedy Night Raises Spirits and Funds

A combined effort by the teams, members, volunteers and employees from the Gosford and Woy Woy Vinnies Support Centres came to fruition on the evening of Thursday 26 September when a fundraising event “Comedy for a Cause” was held at Drifter’s Wharf in Gosford.

Drifter’s Wharf, a restaurant and function centre located on the beautiful Gosford waterfront, was a large supporter of the event and donated the premises for the night.

Four amazing comedians took to the stage in a very entertaining show. Tommy Dean was the headline comedian, of ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks and ABC Radio’s Thank God it’s Friday.

There were many happy winners in the evening’s raffles and lucky draw.

Around 100 people supported the evening, raising almost $3,000, in spite of unfriendly weather. This money has gone towards assisting people on the Central Coast who are experiencing homelessness or financial hardship - two circumstances that have seen large increases in the community.
