During our Christmas Appeal each year, St Ambrose’s Conference Concord West works closely with the local St Ambrose Parish, St Ambrose Primary School, Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School, North Strathfield.
We have been blessed to develop strong relationships with the schools’ Religious Education Coordinators, Family Educators, and Principals, over many years.
Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School and St Ambrose Primary School both have active Mini Vinnies groups and are very supportive of the Society, generously providing food cards, gift cards and toiletries, and in previous years, food, for our Christmas hampers.
These schools’ donations enabled our Christmas Hampers for people we assist, and also:

13 hampers shared by five local schools, distributed by them directly to families in need.

$1,060 in Food and Gift Cards for the Burwood Vinnies Support Centre.

Parishioners from St Ambrose’s Parish also generously donated food and gifts to us, which also went to the Burwood Vinnies Support Centre.
Many years ago, St Ambrose’s Conference created a ‘School Liaison’ role, in which Edel McKenna has served fabulously for several years. Edel visits Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School and St Ambrose’s Primary School throughout the year, participates in Mini Vinnies activities, and fosters the relationship between schools and Conference.
We are very grateful to receive the ongoing support of such incredible local schools and the St Ambrose Parish, whose enormously generous communities assist us in serving the people we assist in our local community, in the spirit of the Society.
