The Society of St Vincent de Paul NSW State Council is the governing body that upholds the Society’s mission and spirit. It provides leadership through clear communication, coordinated action, and the resources needed to support the effective, efficient, and appropriate work of members across Conferences and Councils.
The Council comprises 10 elected Central Council Presidents (Trustees), each representing a Central Council in NSW, together with nine appointed Vice Presidents who oversee specific portfolios under the guidance of the State Council President.
Serving a four-year term, each Central Council President plays a vital leadership role in inspiring meaningful and lasting change for those most in need within their community. Guided by The Rule, Presidents foster Vincentian spirituality and create an encouraging environment where members’ gifts, talents, and capacities are recognised, developed, and directed toward service.
With several Central Council President positions becoming vacant this year across the state including Armidale, Sydney Archdiocese and Wollongong, Society members are encouraged to consider opportunities to serve in these important roles.
Conference members are invited to prayerfully consider suitable and eligible candidates for these upcoming nominations. Society Members may wish to nominate others or, where appropriate, offer themselves for this important role.
