Rejoicing in Pat Yeo's Papal Blessing

On Sunday, 15 March 2026, a joyful gathering was held with the Yeo family and the Dubbo St Brigid’s Conference Care and Support Team to celebrate the recognition of Pat Yeo’s outstanding contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. During  Sunday Morning Mass, Father Greg Kennedy, Parish Priest of St Brigid’s Dubbo, presented Pat with a Papal Blessing in honour of his dedicated service to the Dubbo Conference, the Castlereagh Region, and the Bathurst Diocese.

Pat exemplifies everything that our founder, Frederick Ozanam, envisioned in a Vincentian. He reflects the face of Jesus through his empathy, attentive listening, and genuine compassion for those he serves. He approaches every situation with fairness and consistently seeks solutions that empower others and enhance their lives.

Among his colleagues, Pat is regarded as a mentor and role model. Through his example, others continue to grow and develop their own skills. Even in difficult circumstances, Pat consistently spoke with quiet confidence, providing well-documented understandings and empathy to all. His calm and thoughtful approach often shifted the tone of discussions, leading to fruitful resolutions.

Although Pat humbly expresses that this recognition belongs to everyone, there is a shared sense of pride in seeing him acknowledged in this way. The Papal Blessing is widely regarded as being richly deserved, recognising his significant contributions not only in Dubbo but also across the wider region and Diocese.

It is also important to acknowledge Pat’s wife Kier, whose support has been invaluable. Her contribution, both behind the scenes and as part of the broader team, is deeply appreciated.

Pat is held in the highest esteem, and there is heartfelt gratitude for who he is and the positive impact he continues to have on so many lives.
