Revitalised Holbrook Conference for growing Riverina

Holbrook Our Lady of Sorrows Conference, in the Riverina, was on the verge of closing, with only one member remaining, after two other members stepped down due to health issues.

Holbrook has seen significant changes post-COVID with more tree changers and increased development but also growing need due to significant housing and cost of living pressures.

A conversation with the new parish priest, Fr Jomer, started a new chapter for the Conference which will enable the Society’s mission in a small but growing town.

Fr Jomer’s encouragement of the parishioners to join and volunteer brought a new breath of life and the Conference is now thriving again.

Thanks to Fr Jomer's support, five new members have joined, and Fr Jomer has also stepped in as the Conference’s Spiritual Advisor.
