Sharing the Christmas spirit with Amelie Housing Residents

Conference members across NSW joined in the Christmas celebrations at our Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) Amelie Housing properties.

In Burraneer, about 45 residents joined in a most enjoyable Christmas evening celebration on 18th November hosted by the Caringbah Conference members. The BBQ fare included chicken kebabs and sausages, fresh salads and bread rolls and a delicious array of desserts. One of the members made homemade Christmas cakes for each of the residents.

Katoomba Conference members shared Christmas lunch on 22 December with the residents and the Housing staff. Due to heavy rain, they made the best of it in the underground car park. Despite the damp conditions, the festive mood and warm connections were apparent.

Xavier High School Conference members In Albury continued their engagement with the residents and enjoyed lunch with them on 29 November.  The students also distributed packs of Christmas biscuits which they had specially baked for the residents. Closer to Christmas, the students delivered hampers that they had prepared for the residents overflowing with food and Christmas treats.

In Penrith, on December 16th, Conference members prepared a wonderful Christmas BBQ luncheon with about 30 tenants joining in. The very successful and enjoyable event was the result of the collaboration of the Housing staff and the Conference members from across the region. Several of the tenants also brought food to share. Santa once again appeared with gifts for the children and hampers for each of the residents.
