A big congratulations to Sylvia Palmer and the teams from Nowra St Michael’s Conference, John Purcell House and Jim da Silva Farm for their excellent work on their stall at Shoalhaven’s NAIDOC Family Fun Day in Nowra. This event truly showcased what we can achieve when all areas of our Society come together.
The team handed out 100s of cupcakes, cookies, bottles of water, clothing and raised awareness of our services and programs in the Illawarra.
The NAIDOC Family Fun Day attracted large crowds and featured a corroboree, smoking ceremony, cultural performances and representatives of community organisations. NAIDOC Week is a time to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and achievements. The success of the Nowra NAIDOC Stall is a testament to the power of collaboration within our community.
Peter Doris, President of the Wollongong Central Council, said it best: "Fantastic what we can achieve by involving all areas of our great Society."
Well done to everyone involved!
