Vinnies Gift Cards

After the successful pilot of Vinnies Welfare Gift Cards, the Members and Volunteers Programs Team is all set for the state-wide rollout!

Historically, the Society had no way of accounting for the goods that shops provided to people in need. Different regions and conferences within the same region had different methods of helping people from our shops.

Over the last six months, we trialled the welfare gift cards that are replacing the voucher system for client assistance in our retail stores to obtain accurate data for the assistance provided directly through our stores, and the conference will receive accurate reports about how the gift card was used by each person we assist.

In the FY25 Budget, we have provided the necessary changes to ensure that there is no negative impact to conference budgets. Additional funding has been allocated to your cost centre to balance the additional costs associated towards the gift cards. The amounts are shown on your P&L reports and will provide accurate data on the assistance provided by conferences through our retail stores.

Vinnies Gift Cards come in the denominations of $30, $50 and $100:

Vinnies Welfare Gift Cards Rolling Out State-Wide

Following a successful pilot, Vinnies Welfare Gift Cards will be rolled out state-wide from the end of August 2024, replacing the voucher system in retail stores. This change allows the Society to accurately track assistance provided and offers conferences detailed reports on how each gift card is used, in conjunction with budget increases and other adjustments based on feedback.

To support the transition, information session webinars will be held in September, covering the purpose, benefits, and practical use of the gift cards. Vinnies Welfare Gift Cards are available in $30, $50, and $100 denominations. For assistance, contact the Programs and Reporting team at member.programs@vinnies.org.au.
