On 26 November 2025, the Vinnies Service Medallion team was invited to Cerdon College, Merrylands, to present the first-ever Bronze Medals to 22 students. These students had completed their Bronze Certificate in 2024 and continued their participation in fundraising and supporting the Vinnies Vans throughout this year.
As the year draws to a close, we’re celebrating an incredible first year for the Vinnies Service Medallion (VSM) and the numbers speak for themselves!
Highlights from 2025:
-
Over 330 students are actively participating, with more joining every week
-
40 schools across NSW have embraced the program, recognising student-led service and advocacy
-
22 students have proudly earned the Bronze Medallion, marking the first official group of award recipients
-
Schools from both regional and metropolitan areas of NSW are involved with the program, and we’re excited to see its reach grow even further next year
To see this level of engagement in the very first year is remarkable. These young volunteers are showing us what leadership, empathy, and action look like. Change starts here, and it starts with them.
As we look toward 2026, we invite you to encourage the young people in your life to join this movement. Every act of service matters, and every student who participates helps create a ripple of positive change. To make getting involved even easier, we’ll be hosting a 2026 VSM Information Session, a chance to explore the program in depth, discover practical ways to bring it to life, and ask questions in a supportive setting. Full details will be shared after registration.
Find out how to connect and register for next year at Vinnies Service Medallion – youthnsw.vinnies.org.au.
Together, let’s continue to celebrate and support the incredible efforts of these young volunteers.
