Vinnies Youth from Sydney gathered at the Vinnies Redfern Support Centre to do what they have been doing all year! Volunteering together and having fun while doing it.

Donna and the Redfern VSC team welcomed over 20 uni students from the University of Sydney, the University of Technology Sydney, the University of New South Wales and Notre Dame to help pack welcome hampers and put together chocolate and marshmallow packs for van runs and home visits during the Christmas Period.

While listening to Christmas Carols, the team worked with smiles all round, many meeting each other for the first time, connecting over the shared value of working to help the community in Redfern.

Their hard work resulted in over 200 Christmas Hampers packed and labelled, almost 100 Christmas themed snack packs prepared for van runs, and around 600 chocolate and marshmallow packs lovingly wrapped with Christmas stickers. These will be handed out to those visiting the Redfern Support Centre, provided to local Conferences to give out and given to other local charities to support their work in the community.

The Vinnies Youth team then continued to connect next door at the pub, celebrating another amazing year and looking forward to doing it all again in 2026.
