Fred’s Place is the Society’s community engagement hub in Tweed Heads, dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
People may not realise that behind the picturesque environment of the NSW North Coast are many people who go without luxuries and basic necessities.
We provide assistance to individuals who are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness, offering essential services such as a daily breakfast, shower and laundry facilities, and case management support to work towards long term security, stability and social connection.
Mornings are very busy at Fred’s Place, when we often welcome up to 130 people, and our work would not be possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers who generously give their time to help those in need.
Here is a photo of just two of our incredible volunteers, Shane Hambling, who generously gives his time at Fred’s Place on Fridays, and Chantai Jacky, one of our dedicated university students completing her unpaid university placement.
The dedication of our volunteers is deeply appreciated by both our service and the individuals we assist. Your contributions are invaluable in keeping our service running and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need!
