Volunteer Spotlight: Bony Kurian

Bony Kurian started his Volunteering journey with St Vincent de Paul at the Auburn Vinnies Support Centre (VSC) in 2023. Whilst volunteering withing Vinnies, he is also attending university at Stotts College, working in the disability sector & raising a family.

Throughout 2023, Auburn VSC Georgette Francis offered Bony a volunteer transfer to Wyong VSC as he lives on the Central Coast & used to drive to Sydney each day.

Bony commenced volunteering at Wyong VSC on Tuesday 11th July 2023 & since that day he has been such an asset to the team in Wyong. He currently volunteers 2 days per week.

Bony is a fantastic volunteer, he always shows dedication & care to every task he completes & every client he assists. He is keen to learn all the procedures & processes that Vinnies must follow.

He displays great enthusiasm in his many roles at Wyong, which include assisting in the referral room, conducting EAPA interviews/assessments, greeting the clients & visitors at reception & answering calls.

Bony is a team player. His fellow volunteers & the presidents/members love having him at Wyong,

The feedback received on Bony’s volunteering at Wyong VSC from the volunteers & members include:

  • He is exceptional, always happy to help, Lisa K, The Entrance Conference President
  • He is polite & always well presented, Nida, Wyong VSC Volunteer
  • He is a great guy, we are lucky to have him at Wyong Vinnies, Peter T, Warnervale Conference Member.

As his support centre coordinator, I am so impressed with his dedication, passion & commitment to all roles he undertakes within Vinnies Wyong & he always does everything with a smile on his face.
