St Nicholas Young Adult Conference, Wollongong Central Council, is an amazing group of committed, caring, kind, community-minded people.
All the St Nicholas’ Youth Conference Members are working professionals who find time to give back to our wonderful community.
Each Member is keenly aware of disadvantage in the community and hardships faced by people we assist, feeling strongly that it is their responsibility to assist wherever possible.
Social justice and making a difference in every part of their lives are what motivate St Nicholas’ Youth Conference’s Co-Presidents, Pallavi Sing and Larissa Vander Reest.
Pallavi is an Electrical Engineer, with a passion for renewables and sustainability.
Larissa is a lawyer with a strong commitment to human rights and advocating for people in some of the toughest moments of life.
This mission finds fulfillment within the Conference and beyond, extending even to groups of friends outside the Society collecting and distributing donations to people sleeping rough.
This highly active Youth Conference has a growing program of hands-on charitable activities, including Green Team days, Snack Packing days, Hamper deliveries, and forthcoming Illawarra Vinnies Van volunteering.
The Conference is also active in growing their capabilities into the future through Member recruitment, Bunnings BBQs, Fundraising and Parish involvement.
As a Youth Conference, they are also drawn towards supporting Buddies Days, with plans underway for a Buddies Day, hopefully in 2025.
The Youth Members at St Nicholas’ Conference West Wollongong are an inspiration to all of us at the Society. Thank you for your incredible work!
