Mittagong Shop remembers Collin

On 31 October, friends gathered in the Mittagong Shop to celebrate the life of a dear friend and dedicated volunteer, Collin Lee, who served in the Southern Highlands for over 15 years. Collin passed away on 17 September 2024, and his presence will be deeply missed by all.

Though the Society was unable to connect with Collin's family for his funeral, Collin was honoured in a personal way by Collin’s friends and fellow volunteers. The turnout was heartwarming, with many sharing stories that highlighted the profound impact Collin had on our lives and the community.

Leonie Duck, Mission, Spirituality & Pastoral Care Partner, provided unwavering support in leading and organising the celebration, alongside Julie McAuley, Cluster Manager, Mittagong, who coordinated the gathering. It was a truly lovely time, made even more meaningful by the friends of Collin who joined to pay their respects.

This gathering helped some find more closure and reminded of the lasting friendships and memories held dear. Collin, you will always be remembered.
